Zola's Caesar Salad (LC)
Recipe: Zola's Caesar Salad (LC)
Serves 6 or more
2 heads of romaine cleaned and chopped for salad
1 bag of whole walnuts
2 bunches of green onions, cleaned and diced
30 green grapes (or any seedless grapes) cleaned and cut in half lengthwise
1 cup parmesan cheese grated
1 bottle Marzetti's Caesar dressing
Put romaine, walnuts, green onions, cheese and grapes in a salad bowl. Toss. One trick to a good salad is not to have the greens too cold. I take mine out of the refrigerator about an hour ahead.
Same goes for the dressing. You can't really taste cold dressing. The best is to have the dressing come from the grocery store and go directly on the salad. If you have leftover, of course, you have to refrigerate, but take the dressing out early too.
When you dress this salad, do it liberally but to your personal taste. Toss. If you want to top it with croutons, look in the "Five Ingredients or Less" recipe section and I'll tell you how to make some great ones.
