Gorgonzola Cheese and Pear Crostini
Recipe: Gorgonzola Cheese and Pear Crostini
1 cup Gorgonzola cheese crumbles
1 cup sour cream
2 Tbl. heavy cream
1 can (12 oz.) pears in syrup, drained and diced
2 tsp. lemon juice
12 French bread slices (1 inch thick)
Olive oil spray
Spray both sides of the French bread slices with olive oil and toast both sides under your broiler or on your grill.
Mix other items in a mixing bowl and mound the mixture by the tablespoonful onto the toasted bread slices.
Put all of the crostini on a cookie sheet and broil (6 inches or so from the heat source) until the crostini are just brown on the tops. (Sort of like toasting marshmallows.) They will probably puff up some. This makes them taste even lighter.
Serve on a pretty tray with any kind of garnish you like. The garnish will just be there for looks. Otherwise this is a pretty bland looking appetizer, but the YUMs are well worth it!
